My chill playlist

    Hi There!

So I listed a few tracks that I'm really enjoying right now. I also linked each one to their music videos if you want to check them out. This playlist has songs old and new which have a very chill vibe, hence the title. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Everyone has their own special relationship with music. My earliest memory of life is of my dad whistling a very calming melody when I was 6 years old. He often whistled that tune to me and sometimes even to himself unconsciously. I liked it a lot and it was always stuck in my head. I discovered a few years later that it was the intro to the song Patience by Guns N' Roses. I never heard him sing the first verse, I didn't even know it was a song. My dad passed away in 2006 but that song will always remind me of him. It's my favourite song and will forever be

I think music is what feelings sound like. It washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.

      Fashion Meets Philanthropy

      Hi There!
I am so excited to write about Angela & Roian online handbag brand that combines fashion and philanthropy. Through their Donate by Color mission, a portion of each handbag sale is donated to chosen non-profit health organizations. Plus, they use vegan leather to make each handbag, avoiding harm to animals! How awesome is that? After a quick visit to their facebook page, I have made a collage of some of my top picks from their collections below.
As you can see, their bags have minimal designs with a classic touch. Perfect for school, work and any occasions. I think their bags would make lovely gifts this Christmas, I know I would be happy to receive one. Especially the square Mandarin Orange Tote (first bag from the left) which I would loooove to use for school.
They aim to increase the awareness of each cause by color of a handbag sold. A detachable ribbon accompanies each handbag purchase and each color represents specific causes. You can help raise awareness by simply attaching the ribbon to your handbag. In addition to the ribbon, a flyer will be given with further information for each cause. You can then share with your friends and help spread awareness. Sadly, they have not yet officially entered the international market. For now, they only deliver to the US. We can only hope they operate international soon.
But even without purchasing a bag, you can still help spread the word by following them on their social media sites (twitter, pinterest and facebook) and be sure to check out their website: Angela & Roi to learn more about their mission and the different causes they support !

      Sunday Smoothie!

      Hi There!

So it's actually Monday already as I'm typing (oops) but this was what I did yesterday!
I decided to wake up early and make my all-time favourite smoothie. I accidentally woke up my parents because the blender was too loud. But I made up for it by making them some too and they loved it, aren't I a good daughter? Haha

It's just a very simple fruit smoothie but it tastes soooo good and it makes for a good breakfast if you're running late in the morning. It tastes like the purple Yakult drink if you've ever tried those.

      For one serving, I used:

      1 cup of non-fat yoghurt
      1 handful of blueberries
      1 sliced up banana
      1/2 tablespoon of honey (optional)

Look at that gorgeous colour from the blueberries. Truth is, I'm not a big fan of eating blueberries by itself that's why I like to add it in smoothies. That's the only way I can get it in my diet as I know how much I need the antioxidants. I might be more adventurous with different flavours next time but for now, this is my favourite. If you've never tried making your own smoothies before, try this one out and you'll surprise yourself :)

I know it's the fall season in other countries so you may not be able to appreciate smoothies during the cold weather as you'd prefer hot pumpkin spice lattes (which I've never tried, I don't even think they sell it here in Singapore *sigh*) Here it's summer all year long. Well actually during this month until December it rains almost everyday and the weather is just gloomy and miserable. Anyway, I will be having these a lot when school's back next week which I'm nervous and sad about. Ah well, gotta make the most out of my last week of holiday a.k.a. being on the internet all day and all night.

      Shoe Review: Doc Martens

      Hi There!

I never thought I would own a pair of Docs before I saw this design. After trying them on, I couldn't resist buying them. I think the pattern is so pretty but still easy to match with many different outfits. Docs are well known for their good quality and they will last you a long time. However, they are quite tough to break in. I got them 3 weeks ago and they still feel brand new. To prevent horrible blisters, the key is to wear super comfortable socks! I bought my socks from H&M, five pairs of different colours for $14.90 SGD. Hopefully they'll do the trick to protect my feet because I'm sure I'll be wearing these almost everyday to school. I may be posting a mini lookbook on how I style these shoes for school soon :)

DISCLAIMER: I purchased all of these items with my own money. I am in no way affiliated with the brands/companies mentioned in this post.

      I'm Back!

      Hi There!

It's been a few months since I updated and I owe you all an apology.

Honestly, I've been contemplating on whether or not to delete this blog for a few weeks now. I've stopped updating for many reasons. Too busy with school, becoming uninspired and having personal struggles with my own body image, confidence and style. I kept thinking that there are so many bloggers and fashion/beauty gurus nowadays, run by girls who are so much prettier, slimmer and more popular than myself. The more I got into blogging, the more I got obsessed with those girls. I became very detached from reality and I felt so.... depressed. I started to fear that people from my school would find my blog and make fun of me. I was careful not to tweet about my blog or share it to anyone I know. It's not that I am not proud of my blog, because I really am. I was just scared of their reaction because I didn't think I was the type of girl to run a fashion blog. I am studying Aeronautical Engineering for crying out loud! I hardly wear any make up to school and I have found no point in dressing up.There are only 2 other girls in my class, both not very girly either. My best girl friends were from my secondary school and we all go to different schools now. I felt so lonely and out of place in my new school which led me to spending most of my time online. I became so overwhelmed with anxiety which haunted me everyday. I couldn't possibly continue putting myself out there if I wasn't happy with myself at all inside.

Fast forward to today, I'm in a much better state of mind and I am feeling inspired again. I still do love fashion and makeup. This blog is literally my only way to express my girly side so I have decided to keep this blog alive. I really did miss the creative process behind every blog post, from taking pictures, editing and the thrill of publishing. I'll be going back to school in a couple of weeks and I shall be making a few back to school fashion posts and all that good stuff very soon :)

I'm so thankful for all of you who decided to follow me and each of your nice comments.
